Up in the North we do things differently. We’re built differently. Grit isn’t just a word, it’s what we’re made of. Since we started back on 30th July 2016, our aim has always been to be the best professional wrestling promotion. At first it was Newcastle. Then it was the north. Now the UK. We started as a whisper, but the secret’s out. NORTH Wrestling is the destination for wrestling fans.

From our first show, through to sold out shows at the Walker Dome, we’ve never lost sight of who we are. NORTH Wrestling prides itself on a passionate and inclusive fanbase, a raucous, up-close atmosphere and a welcoming community. All those ingredients create the best wrestling you’ll see in Britain, if not the world.

Not content with showcasing outstanding talent in the ring, we also have a host of world-class staff on our team out of it too. From award winning visual teams to the dynamic commentary duo of Cultaholic’s Tom Campbell and Veda Scott, we have pieced together a family intent on delivering the very best events possible.

From legends of the industry to talent in the UK, you never know who might show up at a NORTH show. For almost a decade we have created a stage for wrestlers to showcase their talent and fall in love with professional wrestling all over again.

Over the years, the NORTH faithful have welcomed talent currently featured on WWE, AEW, TNA, wXw and NJPW to some of the most unique venues in the UK. Joe Hendry, Pete Dunne, Rampage Brown and Gabriel Kidd are amongst some of the top names to grace the NORTH canvas. Add in a mix of legends like Scotty 2 Hotty and Gangrel with a dash of stars of tomorrow like Leon Slater and Rhio and you’ll start to get an idea of how unpredictable our shows are.

Wor Legends

Over the years, ‘superstars’ that have appeared at WrestleMania, in the Tokyo Dome or simply made their name in the UK indies have also graced the NORTH Wrestling mat. Some have held world titles and long been household names, others are just setting out on their journey.

No matter what their background, the noise and welcome from the NORTH Faithful is what keeps them coming back for more. Here we would like to honour those special talents that have embodied what NORTH Wrestling is all about and become Wor Legends.

Rory Coyle

First ever NORTH Champion.

One of the OG NORTH legends. The Last True Sickboy has been a mainstay with the promotion since the early days. Bringing his unique and perverse sense of violence to our ring, The Devil of NORTH has been the measuring stick of anyone wanting to capture gold. Think this business means something to you? Man Like Dereiss

Former NORTH Tag Team Champion
The man from the 0121 has been a mainstay in 0191 for years. Just Dereiss’ presence at our shows is guaranteed to draw a huge reaction from the NORTH Faithful. His popularity skyrocketed as one half of Boisterous Behaviour with Leon Slater, as well as during his title tilt at Thunderstruck 2.
Leon Slater

Youngest, Longest-Reigning NORTH Champion

Long before he was lighting up the X-Division or appearing weekly on NXT, Leon Slater created a dynasty in Anarchy Brewery. Record holding NORTH Champion, headliner of three consecutive Thunderstruck events in the Walker Dome, Tag Team Champion and focus of the Watch The Lights documentary, Leon will always be the youngest in charge to us.
Rhio

First NCL Cup Winner

Winner of the NCL Cup, shatterer of glass ceilings and all round NORTH favourite, Rhio is never far away from our cards. Bringing her own brand of hard-hitting action to the ring, it doesn’t matter who stands across the ring from her, it usually only ends in one way…a banger of a match and victory for Rhioooooo.
Gene Munny

Current NORTH Champion

From the doghouse to the penthouse. Gene has been hated, adored but never ignored during his time at NORTH. Few fans will ever forget his rise to the top of the company and the moment he captured the NORTH Championship at Thunderstruck 3. Gene Munny encapsulates what it takes to win the hearts of the NORTH faithful and testament that hard work pays off.
Liam Slater

Former NORTH Champion

There’s a reason why Liam Slater goes by Post Modern Wrestler. For years, Liam has battled to create NORTH into a wrestling haven and for long spells he also sat at the top of the promotion as champion. An unforgettable rivalry with Rory Coyle and main eventing the first ever Thunderstruck against his protege Leon Slater, Liam has been involved in the past and present of NORTH Wrestling. Coaching the stars of tomorrow, ensures Liam Slater will also play a pivotal role in the future of the business too.

Watch The Lights

Directed by Alex Ayre, Watch the Lights is a riveting journey into the heart of NORTH, captured during the summer of 2023, with the company gearing up for their biggest show ever, Thunderstruck. The film takes us behind-the-scenes for a thrilling, funny, and often touching look at just what it takes to put on a professional wrestling show.
